June 4, 2013 - MTW - France - Gildard - Prayer and Praise

Dear Prayer Partners,

We now enter the busiest month of the year.  Please pray for the following:

1. Our French denomination leaders meeting with Mission to the World leaders on June 11 to discuss future relations.
2. Finding parents of primary school children who are open to our summer vacation Bible day camp,  and our preparations for the day camp.
3. Support raising and Marseille lodging for our summer intern, Karen Kegel.
4. Members of a Bible study who accept the Bible as God's word, but who struggle with the truth of grace.
5.  An unbelieving, young mother who comes to our church plant, seems open, but struggles.
Explanations:
1.  Please pray for wisdom, faith and cooperation as our denomination leaders meet with MTW leaders to make plans for future work together.
2.  We are starting a Bible day camp for primary school children as an outreach to the neighborhoods around our church.  Please pray for open-minded parents who want their children to learn about the Bible.  And pray for our myriad of meetings, planning and other preparations for the day camp.
3. We thank our Lord for raising 70% of summer intern, Karen Kegel's support.  Please pray for the last 30%.  We also need to find a French family to host her during this time.  Please pray that both would come about.
4.  Jamie explained the gospel to a Bible study of non-believing folks several times.  While they accept most Biblical truths, they have great difficulty with God's grace.  Grace goes against human nature.  They want their works to play a role in their salvation, and they do not want "bad people" to be pardoned.  They think that "minor sins" are pardonable if the "minor sinner" has done good works, but sinners who commit "a big one" should not be pardoned.  We have reviewed much scripture to the contrary, but so far, to no avail - this is not a question of intellect, but of the heart.  This seems to be the biggest barrier between them and coming to Christ.  Please pray that the Holy Spirit would change their hearts.
5.  Camille, our pastor's wife, and Jacki have been meeting for a weekly Bible study with a young church mother who is not a believer.  Please pray that she would come to know who Jesus really is and be drawn to him.
Updates:  Astrid, the Christian law student, has most of the required material for her J-1 visa to work as a law intern in the US this summer.  Please pray for
a positive administration of her request.
Pierre's family have found a host family in the US, and Madison's family found one in Canada, though neither of these were through our supporters.  Pray that they meet Christians this summer.
In Christ,
Jamie and Jacki
