Pray for growing awareness of our need to trust God in the face of financial anxieties and the economic state of Ukraine. “Ukraine is probably the closest country in the world to total financial meltdown” (March 2009, BBC.) Pray for many that have lost their jobs or taken out loans that they are now unable to pay back and for churches struggling to meet their budgets. Pray for the spiritual and financial wisdom of church leaders and that their own jobs will be secure. Pray that all would have a renewed sense of caring for one another.
Praise God for spiritual fruit born of the economic crisis – an unexpected answer to prayerful concern for the rapid growth of materialism in Ukraine. Praise God for his ability to break our sinful hearts and rebuild people of renewed faith and love. Praise God for the joy of seeing his hand at work in the midst of these hard times.
Praise God for my opportunity to teach in a small town, morning to evening, for several days, to believers passionately hungering to hear his word from a reformed perspective. Praise God for refreshing my spirit as well as the generous hearts of these believers in the midst of economic crisis and relative poverty.
Praise God for the faithfulness of believers, now gone to be with the Lord, who have left a significant gift for the purchase of a Holy Trinity church ministry center in Kiev. Pray that the right location and facility will become available in God’s time.
Praise God for faithful giving.
